Comment Policy

Updated: December 6, 2011

The point of having comments turned on, at least on this blog, is to have a conversation between us (you the reader and I the blog owner) and with your fellow readers. Blog posts are published to provide information that is helpful, educational, entertaining and at times thought provoking.

I want to know your thoughts, and I want to get to know you.

However some people leave comments simply to get a link back to their website for SEO purposes. Alas this is not the reason I encourage you to leave comments here. Also, no comments on this blog get do-follow links, meaning you don’t get any link juice. So let’s have a conversation.

In order to keep the conversation one that is helpful to all readers, here are the rules for leaving comments. Break these and you get banned. Easy peasy.

Open For Debate

I’m open to debate of my ideas. So please do go ahead and challenge me and your fellow commenters. However keep it professional and a discussion of the ideas and not the person. Calling anyone names and being disrespectful will not be tolerated. In addition bigotry, hate, sexism and profanity have no place here.

Please State Your Name

In keeping with the conversation if you don’t want to put your actual name (first only is fine) then your comment will be deleted.

Also, no keywords in the name field. I do not have the keyword portion of CommentLuv in use so do not add keywords in there.

When in doubt, use your actual name.

No Affiliate Links, Links To RSS, or Links In Your Comments

Do not link to your affiliate product or your RSS feed in the “Website URL” field. In addition, do not put links in your comments unless they link to an article that helps to further your point. Links are given to commenters by way of the CommentLuv plugin. Aside from the “website url” field in the comment form that link is the only one allowed.

Other Than That…

Let’s have a great discussion! See you in the comments.
